Funding

Catch Up Funding

Given the Covid19 pandemic and the impact on children the government have assigned schools a ‘Catch Up Fund’ to use to close the gaps created by the closure of schools. We have decided to use this in line with the Education Endowment Fund recommendation. Our catch up funding plan can be found here

Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium

Introduced in April 2011, the pupil premium is allocated to children who are looked after by the local authority, those who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM) and for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces. From April 2014 children who are looked after will attract a higher rate of funding than children from low-income families – the ‘Pupil Premium Plus’. This is to reflect the unique challenges they face at school where they often struggle to keep up with their peers at both primary and secondary level. It is for schools to decide how the pupil premium allocated to their school is spent.  Schools will be held accountable for their use of the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families and the impact this has on educational attainment. We publish online details of our pupil premium allocation and our plans to spend it in the current year.

Sports Premium Funding

What is School Sports Funding?

School sports funding is allocated each year to schools s an additional funding source.

Schools must spend this funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money. The governments vision of the PE and sport premium was that all pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

School Budget

Each year we need to share with parents our overall funding allocation and a brief breakdown of how it is spent. Each term Governors meet as a resource committee and one of their termly activities is to scrutinise the budget in finer detail. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask. A copy of this budget statement is also sent out to all parents each April after the new budget is approved by Governors.
